RTU MIREA Hosts Sections of 8th International Conference “Greater Eurasia: National and Civilizational Aspects of Development and Cooperation”

On November 27, MIREA — Russian Technological University hosted the sections titled “Science and Education in Countries of Greater Eurasia” and “Demographic Processes and Healthcare Modernization in Countries of Greater Eurasia” for the 8th International Academic and Practical Conference “Greater Eurasia: National and Civilizational Aspects of Development and Cooperation.”

The conference was organized, as in previous years, by the University of World Civilizations, the Eurasian Information-Analytical Consortium, the RAS Scientific Council on Eurasian Economic Integration Issues, the Russian Scientific Information Center, the RAS Nauka Information-Analytical Center, the National BRICS Research Committee, MGIMO University, and RTU MIREA.

Section participants were welcomed by Yekaterina Darda, Head, and Olga Zolotaryova, Associate Professor, of the RTU MIREA Department of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Management.

Professor A.V. Yakovenko (Dr. of Sociology, head of the Sociology and Social Technologies Department at Lugansk State University) delivered a report addressing AI and educational cooperation in Greater Eurasia.

In her presentation, Professor M.L. Galas (Dr. of History, Mass Communications and Media Business Department at the Financial University under the Russian Federation Government) outlined the trends in intellectualization and cognitive-mental adaptation of the EAEU member states’ potential in labor and science.

Other outstanding presentations included those by Professor T.D. Koichumanova (Dr. of Economics, advisor at Kyrgyzstan’s High Technologies Park) on “The Developing Countries’ Technological Leap via IT and AI: Smile Curve and DeepVine Concepts” and S.A. Borisovko (Junior Researcher, Department of the Middle East and Post-Soviet East, INION of the RAS) on “Innovations in Higher Education Reform No. 5094/2024 in the Internationalization Context of Greece’s Education.”

In the section “Demographic Processes and Healthcare Modernization in Countries of Greater Eurasia,” Associate Professor O.A. Zolotaryova (Cand. of Economics, director of the Demography and Statistics Center at the RTU MIREA Institute of Economic Strategies) spoke on “Global Trends in the 2030 Census Round,” stressing the importance of the international debate over a shift to register-based censuses and highlighted the unresolved issues in using Russia’s unified federal information registry, which contains data on the country’s population, for the 2030 national census.

Notable presentations were made by Professor T.A. Burtseva (Dr. of Economics, RTU MIREA) on “Population Health the Context of Paid Medical Services Development in Russia”; by T.M. Smirnova (Chief Specialist, RAS Federal Research Center “Informatics and Control”) on “Assessment of the BRICS Demographic Potential by Population Age Viability Indicators”; and by I.V. Pilipenko (Cand. of Geography, head of the Socio-Economic Issues in Housing Policy Laboratory at the RAS Institute of Socio-Economic Population Issues) on “Food Price and Wage Purchasing Power Evolution in the 15 USSR Republics and Post-Soviet States, 1970s–2020s.”

The conference proceedings — including contributions from both in-person and remote participants — will be published as an annual yearbook.
