RTU MIREA students took part in the 5th International Oil and Gas Youth Forum

From July 10 to 16, the 5th International Petroleum Youth Forum was held in Almetyevsk, Republic of Tatarstan, within the framework of which the hackathon "Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex 2024" was held. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, PJSC Tatneft, the Youth Council of the Oil and Gas Industry under the Ministry of Energy of Russia and the Reliable Successors (Nadyozhnaya Smena) Charitable Foundation "".

RTU MIREA was represented at the forum and hackathon by students of the Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies: M.B. Zharylganova and E.E. Khaibulina (graduates of the bachelor's degree program of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Elastomer Processing named after F.F. Koshelev, Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Yechnologies.

In 2024, 240 students, postgraduates and young teachers who had passed a competitive selection and represented not only Russian but also foreign universities took part in the hackathon.

For five days, students worked on tasks set before them in the form of cases in teams.

As a result, only 20 teams out of 40 were admitted to the final defense in four tracks, where one best solution from each track was selected.

The teams in which students from our university participated took 10th and 11th place out of 20 finalists.

 

Six days of active work ended in a colorful closing ceremony of the forum and hackathon, where, in addition to awarding the winners, the participants received valuable memorable prizes. At the same time, the oil summit of the Republic of Tatarstan was held, where the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov spoke, as well as S.E. Tsivelev, A.B. Yanovsky, representatives of the fuel and energy sector, and other experts. The forum participants had an opportunity to ask questions relating to the Dialogues on equal terms project.
