From November 24 to 28, Kazan’s A.N. Tupolev National Research Technical University hosted the international student Olympiad “Computer Modeling in Designing Aerospace Devices and Systems.” Students from over 20 top Russian technical universities (Bauman University of Moscow, Reshetnev Siberian University, Ustinov Baltic VOENMEKH, and others) plus several universities from neighboring countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan) competed in testing their engineering skills, including knowledge of design documentation rules and complex 3D CAD modeling of parts and assemblies.
This year, the RTU MIREA team from three institutes (AI Institute, IPTIP, M.V. Lomonosov IFCT) competed for the first time — fielding teams in all three software categories.
In the Kompas-3D Software event, RTU MIREA students K.R. Salnikov, M.S. Tsarev, Ye.A. Ivanov, and K.M. Chebotarev took first place as a team, and K.R. Salnikov ranked second as an individual.
In the SolidWorks Class Software event, RTU MIREA students S.A. Tsygankov, Ye.V. Spesivtseva, and V.S. Petrushov ranked third as a team, and S.A. Tsygankov second as an individual.
In the MATLAB Class Software event, student Ye.A. Tsygankov took second place as an individual.
The RTU MIREA delegation placed second overall in the team standings.
The team was coached by Associate Professor Karen Tigranovich Yegiazaryan of the Engineering Graphics Department.
We congratulate the winners and look forward to their future achievements!
