Strategic Development Program

The Strategic Development Program (hereinafter – Program-2020, SDP-2020) of the Federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education “MIREA – Russian Technological University” (hereinafter – RTU MIREA, University) is a general concept for the development of the University for the period between 2020 and 2024, which is a logical continuation of the Strategic Development Program of the University (hereinafter – SDP-2016), successfully implemented in 2016-2019.

The Program-2020 is aimed to maintain and increase the results that have been achieved with the account of modern trends in the development of education. The Program sets forth the key goals and objectives, maps out specific areas in education and provides for activities that ensure further development of RTU MIREA at the current stage of the functioning education system.

The main criteria of this program are based on the indicators of the SDP-2016, that was to ensure the sustainable functioning of the University to achieve qualitatively new results in its activity, given that RTU MIREA was formed via accession to MIREA of the leading Universities in their respective areas: the Moscow State University of Instrument Engineering and Computer Science, Lomonosov Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies, and a number of educational, academic, research, design, and production organizations, pursuant to orders No. 646 and No. 549 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated 09.06.2014 and 29.05.2015 respectively.

The solution of large-scale tasks facing the Russian higher education, including those goals and objectives set forth in the Education national project, necessitates on-going and future changes in the system of education and determines new goals and ways to achieve them. The SDP-2020 expands the concept of innovation orientation, ensuring the preservation and development of a high-quality system resistant to external and internal challenges in all areas of RTU MIREA activities.

The Program-2020 has been developed on the principles of consistent and balanced system of key indicators for the University’s activities, grouped by areas, specifically: educational activities, research, work with the personnel, international activities, the University’s contribution to the socio-economic development of the region, material and technical base, social and cultural infrastructure, University administration, financial and economic activities, social and educational work.

The SDP-2020 is aimed to map out the ways and identify the means for achieving a new level in all areas of activity that are to ensure the RTU MIREA position as a leading technological university in Russia that contributes to the solution of various issues of social and economic development of the state and society.

The Strategic Development Program of RTU MIREA for 2020-2024 was approved by the decision of the Academic Board of the University of December 25, 2019, Protocol No. 5.
