Roman Churakov, a student at RTU MIREA’s Institute of Artificial Intelligence enrolled in the Computer Security program (10.05.01), took part in the final round of the International Additive Technologies Championship “3D-Profi 2025.” His team walked away with top honors in the “Best 3D Modeling Team” category.
Held in Moscow, the championship is an annual showcase for spotting and supporting young talent aged 14 to 23. This year’s event, organized by the city’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development, brought together 150 high school and university students. Since its launch, the project has connected nearly 1,000 participants.
Competitors sharpened their engineering skills across three core disciplines: 3D design, 3D printing, and reverse engineering, all using professional-grade equipment. Teams came not only from Moscow but also from the Moscow and Tomsk Oblasts, the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Republic of Bashkortostan, and Belarus.
30 teams made it to the finals. Their tasks included developing engineering designs and preparing for their presentation, and the competitions were preceded by a crash training program. The teams spent five intense days in workshops led by industry experts, learning how to operate 3D printers and scanners, mastering reverse engineering techniques, refining their design approaches, and polishing their final project presentations.
The results are a great reminder that it’s not just upperclassmen making waves; first-year students are diving in too! Congratulations to Roman Churakov, and best of luck in all his future projects!
