RTU MIREA Opens Doors to the Future for New Students

The annual Freshman Day celebration at RTU MIREA was a bright and lively event marking the start of the new academic year. It was a chance for new students not only to get to know the university’s traditions and opportunities but also to feel like they were part of a team ready to achieve great things together.

The festivities kicked off with an interactive student festival where freshmen explored creative workshops, master classes and tried their hand at making custom accessories. There were also chill zones with photo booths, AI-powered tech experiences, and a food court loaded with treats.

As the university’s chamber choir beautifully performed the national anthem of the Russian Federation, top students raised the flags of Russia, RTU MIREA, and the MIREA Student Union. The celebration continued with a drum show and a colorful flag parade, now to the university’s anthem, a symbol of tradition and unity.

Several honored guests shared inspiring remarks:

Andrei Vladimirovich Omelchuk, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education:

The event also featured speeches by veterans and the chairman of the MIREA Alumni Union, Sergey Yuryevich Gubin, a graduate of the RK-6-80 study group.

And, of course, RTU MIREA President Aleksandr Sergeyevich Sigov and Rector Stanislav Alekseyevich Kudzh shared inspiring words. The latter pointed out, in particular:

“Freshman Day at RTU MIREA is not just a tradition; it’s a milestone marking the start of our students’ journey into science, technology, and creativity. We strive to make our university a space where every idea finds support and every student feels part of a strong and inspiring community ready to open the future together.”

The highlight of the celebration was the symbolic handing over of the university key and the freshmen’s oath.

The day wrapped up with a spectacular fireworks display in the colors of the Russian flag and a big concert featuring Vanya Dmitrienko and the ZOZh group.
