From April 14 to 15, the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Tajikistan hosted Dushanbe AI Days, a series of events put together by the Russian House in Dushanbe in partnership with RTU MIREA, MEPhI University, and Kursk State University.
Representing RTU MIREA were E.A. Slyozkina, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education, A.K. Rybnikov, Head of the Instrument and Applied Software Department’s Laboratory at the Information Technology Institute, and Senior Lecturer S.R. Ermakov of the same department. They gave presentations to high-school and university students, introducing them to the university’s admission requirements and process, including the procedures for foreign applicants eligible for the Russian Government’s quota, and to the most popular academic programs available. Attendees also learned about the benefits of studying at RTU MIREA.
Faculty from the Information Technology Institute also led a master class on neural networks called “From Query to Result” for 9th to 11th graders and 4th-year university students. Participants learned about how modern language models work and got hands-on experience seeing how neural networks generate answers. The most engaged students tackled AI challenges and received souvenirs from RTU MIREA.
Andrey Patrushev, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Tajikistan, said:
“Events like this, where young people don’t just listen but get to try digital technologies themselves, contribute directly to the training of future specialists. We want talented youth in Tajikistan to have access to the best Russian educational practices.”
