From July 10 to 12, Abkhazian State University in Sukhum, Abkhazia, hosted a blog tour, an event organized within the framework of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s Student Tourism Program. Representing RTU MIREA was Dmitry Bartsev, a bachelor’s student from the Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies.
The purpose of the blog tour was to promote student tourism and to showcase what colleges and universities have to offer in this area. It included:
A presentation by the host university;
Thematic meetings and master classes;
Excursions and cultural events;
Visual blogging and media projects.
As a member of the Student Tourism Ambassadors’ Delegation, Dmitry visited some of the city’s most significant landmarks, including the botanical garden, the State Museum of Abkhazia, the man-made waterfall, and others. Additionally, the group took part in the official meeting marking Abkhazian State University’s entry into the Student Tourism Program.
The Student Tourism Program was launched in 2021. Since then, it has proven its timeliness and popularity among young people, as well as ability to scale its benefits and social impact on a systematic basis. Every year, students travel across the country from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, staying in university campuses. Participants can choose from unique tourism programs in a student-to-student format, attend popular science events, visit various sites, and much more.
